Concept
The overall concept for the land is to develop it into an “eco-adventure
ranch”.
All the wetland areas will be left in their “natural” state with only a few
access trails/ bridges built to permit wildlife viewing . The remaining
development will be phased in over several years.
The first phase will see all the pasture fields tilled and seeded with
some irrigation applied.
Approximately, 2000 square feet of the landing zone will be allocated as a
folding area for paragliding and hang gliding pilots. This area will be seeded
and heavily irrigated to establish and maintain a green grassy area.
Owners, John McIsaac and Cathy-Anne David see phased development in the coming
years that will include specific features:
- Establishment of a flight camp including 20 tenting sites and 44
full service RV sites
- Preservation of the natural wetlands and development of a trail
system to include activities such as hiking, biking and skiing
- Preservation of the Agricultural Land Reserve Designation by
upgrading pasture lands and the creation of an organic market
garden.
- Establishment of a 12 room lodge with out cabins, spa and
restaurant.
Development phases and features will, of course, depend upon appropriate
approvals by regional and agricultural authorities.
The long term plans include the construction of a four season alpine style
lodge complete with restaurant and health/spa amenities. |
